Hello Friends,
Spring is still springing here in Honeoye Falls, NY and we're seeing lots of activity. There is new life and inspiration everywhere and I'm happy to report that our bees wintered over and are doing wonderful! We were even fortunate enough to capture a swarm that was searching for a new home and we're now in the process of relocating them to their new condo.
There have been dozens of baby birds chirping, as well as several new generations of geese growing, baby owls perching and more bunny babies than we can count! And just this last evening we saw a brand new baby fawn getting a bath in the brook with its mom. Jimmy and I are convinced that our Sweetpea has sent out a memo for us, that some extra love and nature distractions for the kind of comfort and healing that only God's creatures can bring.
On that note, I just want to share that I find it incredibly helpful in the grieving process to focus more so on the gifts God gives us, rather than the sense of loss we experience. Sweetpea was a gift more precious than gold to us. Letting her go in the physical sense, which I do believe is temporary, is just a tiny shadow in comparison to the giant gift of her presence. We miss her dearly but are more so grateful for having her in our lives. Her inspiration lives on in our hearts and shows up all around us. She will be cherished for eternity.

What inspires you? Inspiration comes to me from so many places that I sometimes don't even realize it's happening until it has. It's hard to admit this, but life is moving too fast for my liking. I don't take nearly enough time to reflect on the inspiration that has transpired throughout my life. It's fascinating to imagine God setting a course for our lives with so many opportunities to inspire us and keep us along our journey!
I was at a celebration of life recently for a very special person who inspired me and many others. I worked for the Wizard of Clay, Jim Kozlowski, in Honeoye, New York from the time I was a junior in high school until my late twenties. I hadn't reflected on the impact of this decade-plus chapter in far too many years. Looking back now I realize that landing that job, thanks to my high schoolmate Jamie, who is now the wizard in command, was one of the best things that could have happened to me. I was young, on my own and facing what was to become a pretty rocky road ahead. Jim witnessed a lot of my hurdles, and being the kind and empathetic man that he was, he took the time to care and help me get over many of them.
During that time in my young life I had ambition but not a lick of confidence and he was determined to change that. When I needed to pursue full-time employment, it was Jim who wrote a letter of recommendation and gave me interview advice..."Look them in the eye and profess that your honesty and willingness to learn outweighs your lack of experience". I got that job. I could share dozens of similar experiences from those years, where I grew up at the best job of my life. I can say without a doubt that my character was molded there and who I became was impacted by Jim's influence and willingness to care about me. I am now re-inspired by Jim Kozlowski to change the speed and perspective in which I operate my life...so that the important people and things I've learned from along the way, will become more a part of my living than my past.
And on that note, I would like to invite you to come for a visit so I can welcome you to my summer studio where I work and showcase my latest creations. You can take in the meadow wildlife, where the bees gather their honey making supplies, the orioles snack on grape jelly and the heron fish along Spring Brook. While the bluebirds sing, we can share the precious gift of time and discuss our inspirations.
In the meantime, may the blessings of God's beautiful creatures inspire and comfort you! Tamara & Jimmy
